Mapping Solidarity in Europe. Discourse Networks in the Euro crisis and Europe's Migration Crisis
Solidarity is one of the contested claims in public debates about the 'Eurozone crisis' and Europe's migration crisis. I take a closer look at solidarity and my main question is: How is solidarity framed by actors in the media arena in Ireland and Germany in both crises? I analyse German and Irish newspaper from 2010 to 2015 and deploy a discourse network analysis to shed light on conflicts about different ideas on solidarity and changing actor constellations in Ireland and Germany.
