Kaitlin Alper is a visiting researcher from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interests are in comparative political economy, comparative social policy and the political economy of multilevel governance and decentralization. Her work primarily focuses on the advanced industrial democracies of Western Europe. She will remain at BIGSSS through December 2021, while she conducts interview research for her dissertation, which focuses on subnational governments' willingness and ability to mitigate income inequality within their borders.
