BIGSSS Welcomes Representatives from 45 Graduate Schools of All Disciplines

On March 29-30, BIGSSS hosts the 3. Conference of DFG Excellence Initiative Graduate Schools in Bremen.

During the two-day program, representatives of all 45 German graduate schools which have received funding in the DFG Excellence Initiative are invited to discuss the future of structured doctoral education in Germany. BIGSSS is looking forward to welcoming you in Bremen soon!

Program:

On the first day, science journalist Jan-Martin Wiarda and Prof. Andreas Breiter, Vice President Research at the University of Bremen, talk about future prospects of graduate education at German universities and engage in discussions with the representatives of structured graduate programs in various scietific disciplines. On the second day, workshops tackle topics that concern the everday work routines of graduate schools, such as electronic program administration and science communication to the broader public.
