How to Apply for the Affiliated PhD Program

Eligibility

Doctoral candidates who work in third-party funded or professorial research projects in the social scien­ces at the University of Bremen or Jacobs University may apply to BIGSSS for admission as "Affiliated fellows". Their doctoral research projects should be related to one of BIGSSS' three Thematic Fields.

 

General Information on Application - Please read carefully

The next Affiliated PhD program commences on February 1, 2017. Applicants to the Affiliated PhD Program should hand in their application packets before the end of November 2016 in order to be considered for the program starting on February 1, 2017. All deadlines refer to the date of receipt of the application, not the mailing date.

Candidates are asked to submit the following appli­cation ma­te­rials to the Admissions Officer (admissions-officer@bigsss-bremen.de):

2. PRELIMINARY DISSERTATION PROPOSAL

2.1. Preliminary Dissertation Proposal (5-10 pages)

2.2. One-page Proposal Abstract

3. CERTIFICATES

3.1. Statement of Consent

3.2. Master’s Degree Certificate

3.3. English Language Skills
