On February 1-2, BIGSSS welcomes representatives from its EU COFUND BIGSSS-departs partner network for a kick-off conference in Bremen.
An asset of the BIGSSS-departs PhD program is its focus on international mobility, the building of sustainable networks, and the cross-national partnership in the training of promising early-stage researchers. Therefore, fellows commit themselves to a three-to-six-month stay abroad at one of the networks’ renowned academic or inter-sectoral partner institutions.
During the two-day program of the Partner Days, BIGSSS introduces its work and programs, including the BIGSSS-departs inbound program for visiting early-stage-researchers, to its partners. In turn, our 19 BIGSSS-departs PhD fellows learn more about the 13 academic and non-academic partner institutes as a preapration for their upcoming three-to-six-month stay abroad at one of the network's partner institutes of their choice. Two panel discussions on "PhD Paths and Experiences in the Partner Network" and "Social Scientists Outside Academia" as well as a poster presentation session round out the program.
