BIGSSS welcomes guest professor August Österle

Prof. Dr. August Österle will be joining the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) as a guest professor from October 2009 to February 2010. Österle is associate professor at the Institute for Social Policy at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Department of Economics). His main research interests include Health Economics and Health Policy, Comparative Social Policy, Social Policy in Europe, and Evaluation Research.

Österle's stay is part of a 2-year guest professorship for International Comparative Studies sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The guest professorship is a joint appointment of BIGSSS and the Hanse Institute for Advanced Study (HWK) in Delmenhorst and will be granted to four scientists for one semester each between winter term 2009/2010 and summer term 2011.
