Visiting Fellows
BIGSSS continuously invites applications by doctoral candidates from other institutions to conduct a research stay at BIGSSS. Such Visiting Fellows should be working on a thesis which falls into one of BIGSSS' five thematic fields. The stay is unfunded, but office space and access to the universities libraries are provided. Its duration is negotiable; most of our guests stay between 2 and 6 months. There are no fixed application deadlines, but applications should be sent at least three months in advance of the proposed visit. Opportunities are granted in accordance with the capacity of the School to host Visiting Fellows.
Visiting fellows are invited to fully participate in the research activities of BIGSSS, including seminars, colloquia and workshops.
If you wish to become a Visiting Fellow, please submit the following materials to our Director of Studies at least 3 months ahead of your planned stay:
1) A cover letter describing your project, who among our faculty, fellows, and thematic fields you would like to work with during your stay, the proposed duration of your stay, and your source of financing.
2) An updated CV
