The Conference Venue:
The conference will take place at the Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg Delmenhorst (Germany)
Participants will be accomodated in hotels in Delmenhorst (www.delmenhorst.de/tourismus/hotels).

The Hanse Institute for Advanced Study (HWK) is a non-profit private foundation of the German states of Lower Saxony and Bremen and the city of Delmenhorst. It supports the disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration of scholars and scientists on both the national and the international levels. In the first place, the HWK supports research stays and fellowships for highly distinguished scholars from different fields of research. In addition, a strong emphasis is placed on the support of junior scholars and scientists and of different forms of scientific exchange, such as conferences, workshops, lectures etc. The main fields of research of the HWK are social sciences, biology and geosciences. HWK fellows are not only theorists; instead, they are active in practice and experimentation within the laboratory and other facilities in the neighboring research institutes.
The Institute building has one large conference room which can hold up to around 80 persons. This room can be divided in two or three parts as needed for meetings of smaller working groups. The conference room is equipped with the latest in media technology. The building has its own small, open-access library with specialized literature from the three research areas of the HWK as well as lexicons, atlases and dictionaries. Four computer workplaces have been set up. Books and essays from all libraries in the Federal Republic of Germany can be procured quickly through external library loans.
Furthermore, a total of eighteen apartments are available for individuals and couples in the Institute building of the HWK. In addition there are three family apartments with an extra room for children. Each apartment is furnished with a desk and a computer workplace. Each apartment also has its own bath and small kitchen. For more information on the HWK click here.
